“T.H. Dent, of Springbank Dairy, received notification that his son, Lieut. James H. Dent, was wounded on November 6, received another telegraph message from Ottawa stating that Lieut. Dent was killed in action on the date previously given.”

“Jim” Dent, at the time he joined the 168th battalion, with which he went overseas, was in partnership with his father and brother Tom. The two latter looked after the farm and Jim conducted a milk route in the city.”

“He is survived by his father and mother, three brothers and four sisters as follows; Tom, on the farm, Arthur, Woodstock; Fred Sault Ste. Marie; Miss Pearl and Ten year old Francis at home; Miss Beatrice, a school teacher in the country and Jean who is employed as a clerk in a local bank.”
